Grand Canyon Legacy Deck

If all of your life you have been searching for a versatile Johnny-Deck, I am proud to present you the Grand Canyon Deck (epic music in the background). Why it is so awesome? Duh.
Let's get some reasons:

  1. It is fast as hell (combo pieces are lands and 1 mana-instants)
  2. Nobody expects it.
  3. You can laugh at your opponent for owning him with a land.
  4. You can win infinite life OR do infinite damage.

// Lands
1 [LG] The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale
1 [CHK] Forest (4)
1 [TE] Island (2)
4 [A] Tropical Island
4 [ON] Polluted Delta
4 [ON] Wooded Foothills
4 [VI] Griffin Canyon
1 [AN] Diamond Valley
4 [TSP] Gemstone Caverns

// Spells
4 [MR] Lifespark Spellbomb
4 [SH] Mox Diamond
4 [NE] Daze
4 [AL] Force of Will
4 [IA] Brainstorm
3 [NE] Animate Land
1 [AP] Unnatural Selection
1 [8E] Trade Routes
4 [UL] Crop Rotation
4 [ON] Trickery Charm
4 [6E] Mystical Tutor

-How does it work?

What you need for this combo to work is to have a griffin canyon in play, convert it to a creature with animate land or Lifespark Spellbomb and finally change its creature type to "griffin" with either Unnatural selection or Trickery Charm. After that you just use the land's ability to give itself +1+1 and untap it. You can eitehr do infinite damage OR (if the opponent has a blocker), gain infinite life.

Let's look at a sample hand to understand this better:

  1. Start the game drawing. In the opponent's turn, drop Gemstone Caverns, then use mystical tutor for a Crop rotation.
  2. Draw Crop rotation. Lay off 1 land and the Mox diamond. Play Lifespark spellbomb.
  3. On the EoT (End of Turn) of your opponent's turn, play Crop rotation, sacrificing the Tropical Island and put Griffin Canyon into play.
  4. Use the Spellbomb on the Canyon. Then change its creature type to "griffin".
  5. PUMP IT!
  6. Attack.
